Graduating from college is a tremendous achievement. If you’re the first in your family to graduate, celebrate your success at the First Forward Graduation Ceremony. It’s a Boise State tradition and an honor to recognize you for your extraordinary accomplishments.
You’ll have the opportunity to elect a special mentor to cord you – someone who has helped you along your way. You can also choose to be corded by the dean of students. Participants will receive a unique teal cord, which represents new beginnings and bright futures. Light refreshments will be provided.
The First Forward Graduation Ceremony was introduced by Multicultural Student Services and the Martin Luther King Jr. Living Legacy Committee in 2013 to provide an opportunity to show appreciation for the efforts and success of first-generation students. Past attendance has been in the hundreds and continues to grow.
Register here by December 8 to participate in the cording ceremony.
